Martha Sweitzer

Martha E. Sweitzer, 92, of Stony Creek, passed away Saturday January 13, 2018, in Reading Hospital and Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Carl I. Sweitzer who passed on June 21, 1983. Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late George and Nora (Henry) Weand. Martha was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Stony Creek and worked as a warehouse stocker at Vanity Fair from 1986 until her retirement in 1998. She enjoyed riding her bike on the boardwalk and playing tea party with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Martha is survived by one daughter Donna M. Sweitzer of Stony Creek, one daughter in law Ellen I. Sweitzer Fritz of Auburn; two grandchildren, Jill M. Strause and Michael C. Sweitzer and three great grandchildren, Justine, Jacob, and Brody Lee. She is also survived by her cat, Tiger Lily who she loved and always said, "she's a good girl." She is predeceased by one son Carl L. Sweitzer and one brother Jay Weand. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Thursday January 18 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am at in Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Avenue Reading, PA 19606.
