Florence Thomas

Colonel Florence K. Thomas, 93, of Wyomissing, passed away, Monday, February 12, 2018 in the Nursing Unit of The Highlands. Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Valentine and Florence (Koch) Thomas. Florence joined the Air Force in 1952 and retired as a Colonel in 1975. She served tours in England and Thailand in personnel positions and later as the Personnel Director for the Air National Guard at the Pentagon. Florence is survived by two sisters, Joanne Smith of Bordentown, New Jersey, Jacquelyn Amison of Hamilton, New Jersey; and many nieces and nephews. She is also predeceased by one sister, Patricia Oldani and two brothers James and David. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at 11:00 am at Oley Church Cemetery, 325 Covered Bridge Road, Spangsville. Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. Mount Penn in charge of arrangements.
