Helen E. Thomas (Martz)

Helen E. (Martz) Thomas, 88, of Reiffton, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023, in her home. She was the wife of the late Donald W. Thomas, who passed away January 21, 2017. Born in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late John and Wilhelmina (Davis) Martz. Helen graduated from Shamokin High School in 1952 and attended Bloomsburg University. Helen was a library aid for the Exeter School District for over 40 years until her retirement. She loved reading and spending time with her family and friends.

Helen is survived by her children; David D., husband of Helen, of Boyertown, and Donna J. O'Brien, of Reiffton. She is also survived by her four grandchildren; Matt, husband of Jocelyn, of IL, Megan Speece, wife of Dave, of Collegeville, Scott, husband of Rebecca, of St. Lawrence, and Amanda, wife of Shawn Whitfield, of NYC, as well as seven great-grandchildren and her sisters Suzann and Jean.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am in Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Avenue Reading, PA 19606.
