Andrew K. Unger, 52, of Upper Allen Township, passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021, in his home. Born October 31, 1968, in Reading, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Earl Robert "Bob" and Arlene (Clungeon) Unger. Andy graduated from Lancaster Country Day School in 1987, and earned his Bachelor's Degree in History from Westminster College in 1991. Andy was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hiking, fishing with his Dad, and working with troubled youth in outdoor adventure camps. He was a member of the Professional Disc Golf Association and won many tournaments as an amateur. Andy worked as a chemist with his last job working for Rite Aid. Andy loved animals and spent many happy years with his beloved German shepherd, Kato. In the last few years, he would often care for his niece Laura’s cat when she was traveling. He had an infectious sense of humor and family gatherings were often filled with laughter.
Andy is survived by his sister, Amy C. (Unger) Morton-Hockensmith, wife of Dale, and three nieces, Sarah, Amanda, and Laura. He was predeceased by his brothers Robert "Chip" Unger and Richard B. Unger.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am in Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Avenue Mt.
