Howard Christian Weisman, III, 83, died very late in the evening on November 11th at Reading Hospital from complications of COPD. For the past 15 years, he was the husband of Linda (Buchanan) Weisman, stepfather to Kayla Holod and Ian Buchanan. He has a 10 month old grandson, Henry.
Born on April 26, 1932, he was the eldest of four brothers: Danny, David, and Douglas Weisman, all residing in the Reading area.
Chris was born in Lincoln Park, PA, graduated from Governor Mifflin High School, and served in the US Navy as a percussionist in the Navy Band. He loved all types of music from classical to New Age; his latest favorite was Keiko Matsui.
Chris was a prominent figure in the area due to his long career in Cosmetology from which he never fully retired. According to the Reading Eagle, he specialized in hair system replacement therapy.
During his 30 year marriage to Jane Farrell, Chris raised five children in Reading; Wynne English, Howard Weisman, Glenn Weisman, Jennifer Smith, and Laura Foley. They have five grandchildren: Amanda, Carolyn, Austin, Colin, and Keira.
Chris was a loving husband to Eleanor Weisman for 18 years and stepfather and step-grandfather to Dianne and her children, Casey Helwig, Steve, Jeb and Madison Schmehl; Debbie, and her children, Sam, David and Ben Scaturro; Blayne, and his children, Matthew, Katie and Taylor Bertolet; John Bertolet Jr., and his children, Kara Freese, John and Joseph Bertolet and Cynthia and her children Kelly and colleen Schrier.
