Martha I. Wentzel, 96, of Exeter, passed away, Tuesday, September 19, 2017 in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center. She was the widow of John H. Wentzel who passed on January 11, 2002. Born in Neversink, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Amelia (Hafer) Arters. Martha attended Mt. Penn High School and was a member of Schwarzwald U.C.C since 1939. She was also as a secretary for the Reading Chapter Baldwin Organ Club. She is survived by two sons J. Norman husband of Janet of Wernersville, David A. husband of Jacqueline of Mertztown and two daughters Nancy M. wife of Dennis E. Suchomelly of Reading and Doris A wife of Doug F. Ruhf of Reiffton. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren and two brothers G. Frank of Birdsboro and Edgar D. Arters of Douglassville. She was pre deceased by one son Larry E. and siblings Marshall, Kenneth, Betty and Virginia. Martha loved playing and teaching the organ and had her own students. She attended Neversink Sunday School where she played the piano and also played at Spies Church and Schwartzwald Sunday School. Martha loved her houseplants, all flowers especially purple ones and geraniums. Martha had a close relationship with the Lord. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Monday, September 25, 2017 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am with services beginning at 10:30 am in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Ave Mt. Penn.
