John L. Werner, 85, formerly of Pennside, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2015 in Berkshire Center, Exeter Township. His first marriage was to the late Joan (Bouchat) who was the mother of his children Cathy wife of Rob Davis of New Jersey, Scott B. Werner of Reading and Brian J. Werner husband of Marybeth of Exeter Township. His second marriage was to the late June E. (Johnson) Werner, the mother of his children Marcia A. Werner partner of Carolyn Brooks of Shillington and David C. Werner husband of Lisa of Doylestown.
Born in Wyomissing, he was a son of the late Harry W. and Edna (Leinbach) Werner.
John was a graduate of Wyomissing High School and was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was employed by Willson Safety Products-Reading for 37 years. John was also the past treasurer of the United Steel Workers Union #6137.
In addition to his children, John is also survived by Nine Grandchildren: Ryan, Scott and Nick Werner, Melissa wife of Michael Webster, Jason, Rachel and Brianne Werner, Michael Jones husband of Allison and Justin Jones husband of Nicole and Six Great-Grandchildren: Hailey and Michael Webster, McKayla Werner, Trevor and Braden Jones and Makenzie Higgins.
Visitation with the family will be held from 9:30-10:30 A.M. with services beginning at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, March 26, 2015 in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Ave. Mt. Penn.
