Joseph O. Yoder

Joseph O. Yoder, 82, of Reading, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018, in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center. He was the husband of Mollie E. (Moyer) Yoder. Born in Centerport, PA , he was the son of the late Stephen and Viola D. (Rapp) Yoder. Joe graduated from Mt. Penn High School in 1954 and was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Stony Creek. He was a lifetime member of the Reading Civic Theatre and a member of the Reading Community Players. Joe was the President of the Oley Yoder Heritage Association for many years and the past President of Bethany Lutheran Church Council. He worked for RM Palmer Company and Quaker Maid Kitchens and proudly served in the U.S. Army. Joe enjoyed playing Santa Claus for many years at various locations and fire companies. In addition to his wife Mollie, Joseph is survived by two sons, Eric A. husband of Jill, Blandon, Adam F. husband of Victoria, Stony Creek; and one sister Nancy A. Yoder, Stony Creek. Also surviving are grandchildren, Devon husband of Mackenzie, Dylan, Gabriel and Caleb. He is predeceased by sisters, Leah R. Derr, Mary Jane Gofus, J. Audrey Lorah; and one brother Daniel A. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Thursday, December 27th, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am in Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Ave., Reading.
